Levo help · Cleaning up
Locked items: why some things can’t be cleaned right now
A locked item is listed but unticked, with the reason beside it. Levo holds anything it can't be sure is free to go.
The reasons
| Quit … | The app that owns it is running, such as "Quit Xcode". Quit it and the row unlocks. Levo offers a Quit button beside the row, and says "Dia is open. Quit it to clean this." |
|---|---|
| Used by … | An installed tool needs it, such as "Used by opencode". Quitting won't free it, so Levo keeps it. |
| Open or in use | A program has a file open there, or is working in that folder. |
| A program that uses it is running | A build daemon, a booted simulator or Docker, for example. |
| Git work | A worktree with changes you haven't saved, unmerged work, or a locked one. Clean, merged worktrees can go. |
| Changed recently | Touched in the last five minutes, within your own Keep what changed within window, or by a coding agent working there now. |
| Synced to the cloud | Removing it would remove the cloud copy too. |
| Can't confirm | A check couldn't see enough to say it's free. Unknown means keep. |
Free a locked item
- Read the reason on the row.
- If it says Quit, click the Quit button, or finish what you were doing and quit the app yourself.
- Click Analyse now (⌘R). The row re-checks and unlocks.
It checks twice
The guard runs when Levo analyses and again right before it acts. An item that was free at the first check but isn't any more is skipped, and the clean report says how many were skipped.
If it stays locked
Some items are held for good, because an installed tool depends on them, or they're on Levo's never-touch list. See Protected folders.
