Levo help · How Levo works
Privacy: what leaves your Mac
Levo runs on your Mac. It reads your disk, memory and running apps there, and what it finds stays there. There is no Levo account and no analytics.
What does leave your Mac
- The licence check. When you activate, and every few days after, Levo checks your licence with Polar. It sends your licence key, the activation’s id and a label for this Mac: its name and a short hash of its hardware id.
- The price. Levo fetches the current price from our price server.
- Free cleanups. Each Mac gets two. Levo keeps the count on your Mac and a copy on the price server, under a salted hash of the Mac’s hardware id, never the id itself. That’s why reinstalling doesn’t reset it.
- Updates. Levo reads the list of versions from omggg.wtf.
That’s all. No file names, folder names or usage numbers go to Cntxt Labs.
Your agent
For suggestions, Levo runs the agent command-line tool you chose, such as Claude Code or Codex, on your Mac. The agent reads file and folder names, sizes and similar details through Levo’s read-only tools, and sends what it reads to its own provider, under your account with that provider and its terms. That is your choice of agent, not something Levo adds.
If you don’t want that, don’t connect an agent. Levo still monitors, notifies and lists what it knows. See Levo without an agent.
Keeping things out of reach
Protected folders are never indexed and the agent can’t read them. Photos, Mail, Messages, your keys and credential files are protected from the start. Add your own in Settings › Protected. See Protected folders.
Payments
Polar takes your payment as the merchant of record and keeps what it needs under its own privacy policy. We don’t see your card.
Reports you send us
If you use Send feedback, the report has counts, sizes and settings and no paths or file names. A log of what Levo did is added only if you tick it, and Preview shows you exactly what goes before anything does. It opens as a draft in your mail app, and you send it.
